When Toy Story became the surprise hit of 1995, newly minted Pixar knew they had to follow it up. But director John Lasseter had another passion project he wanted to do first, which turned out to be A Bug’s Life. With another hit on his hands, Lasseter knew that it was time to follow up his original hit.
