After finally winning the elusive Oscar that had been teasing him most of his career, Martin Scorsese had the cinematic world at his disposal. But in his mind, there was no easier decision to be made than reunite with his current version of DeNiro in Leonardo DiCaprio and take on the project of adapting Mystic River’s author Dennis Lehane’s novel Shutter Island. The book is about a US Marshall going to solve the murder of his wife and children. But with psychological horror elements sprinkled throughout, this is far from the gangster type storytelling that has garnered him his Oscars. So how does the project come off?
