It would seem to be a match made in heaven, wouldn’t it? A film about a team of no gooders united in gritty form, and the talent of David Ayer, the writer of the Oscar winning Training Day. Little did Ayer know, his film Suicide Squad would be used as a catalyst to try and pay off some Batman V Superman bills.

After Batman V Superman did not make what Warner Bros were expecting, they grasped onto what they deemed to be their last ditch effort to earn Marvel Films type respect. The trailer attached to that film which garnered a ton of positive buzz was that of Suicide Squad. So Warner Bros hired the editors of that trailer to recut what they saw was an unending feeling of dread that seemed to follow DC films ever since the success of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

Listen in as Garrett, Matt, and Adam reveal what came of that edit, and if Suicide Squad, featuring the first theatrical appearance of popular DC Comics character Harley Quinn, is worth more than its reputation would seem to allow.

And don’t forget to keep checking in, as all of this leads up to a Three Men And A Retrospective Podcast review of Matt Reeves’s new film The Batman!
